Below is one woman’s powerful story of how Transition House helped her and her children restore their lives:
My name is Lucia* and I have three children, Paloma*, Eduardo* and Diego*. My primary job has always been to raise my family. My husband provided for our financial wellbeing. He never wanted me to work outside the home and I accepted his decision.

We had our problems like any other couple, but I always thought we would work through them. He had been having problems at his job and was drinking too much. He took his stress out on me.

One day in January of 2008 things got to be too much. He pulled out a gun and shot me in front of our children. I thought all of our lives had ended.
