For a family in crisis, the first night at a shelter can be overwhelming and even a little scary. To help ease this transition, we are launching a new initiative to provide “Comfort Kits” to every family member on their first day with us—offering not just essentials, but a sense of dignity, belonging, and care.

Volunteers and staff will create each individual bag and present them to families on their first night in the shelter

Every child and parent will receive a Comfort Kit which will include basic hygiene items, practical necessities, and comforting essentials. A simple toothbrush, a cozy pair of socks, or a small stuffed animal can make a world of difference in a difficult time.
