Transition House’s Family Support Center is FREE and OPEN to the community! We offer free evening classes including English as a Second Language, Parenting, Job Club Workshop, Financial Literacy Workshops, as well as an Open Computer Lab.
Workshop Offerings
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)
Learn English or help improve your English language skills. This is an on-going, in-person workshop is offered 2-nights a week from 7PM-8:30PM.
MINDFUL PARENTING WORKSHOP
This class for parents teaches hands-on skills to help define effective parental roles, end destructive behaviors, shift your thinking, and develop new skills and perspectives. Offered 1-night a week from 7PM-8:30PM. English and Spanish sessions available.
FINANCIAL LITERACY
Financial Literacy classes are a step toward financial stability. Offered 1-night a week from 7PM-8PM. English and Spanish sessions available. Topics covered include:
- Banking 101
- Creating a realistic budget
- Savings and investing
- Understanding credit
- Protecting your identity
JOB CLUB WORKSHOP
Gain or improve the skills you need to get the job you want. Offered 1-night a week from 7PM-8:30PM. Topics covered are goal setting, job searching, interviewing, resume building, tools you’ll need for any job, and more!
